Views regarding animal exhibit design evolve continuously due to progressive insight, increasing knowledge and changing social opinions. Professionals involved in the design of animal enclosures therefore should be able to adapt to keep up with the changing insights, or even better, stay ahead of the game. This, and the fact that so many stakeholders are involved in the design process, is what makes zoo design so incredibly interesting.
Lionhouse recently started the Zoo Design group for the purpose of sharing information and knowledge, to give project updates and to network, all related to zoo design. This group is open to all professionals involved in the design of zoo exhibits, such as architects, landscape designers, zoo staff and zoo associations staff.
